MY INTRODUCTION-BOT

My names are Calvin Duttu Jilala, Iam the Journalist working with Sahara Communication and Publishing Company (SCPC). Its is the Holding Company with its three subsidiaries, thus the Stav TV, Radio Free, Kiss Fm and the weekly News Paper, Msanii Afrika. I have been in the news industry for about ten years now.

Iam working as the Deputy Editor and Iam working with The Union of Tanzania Press Club (UTPC) as the Editor of its monthly Newsletter known as Tuwasiliane. It is belongs to all 26 member clubs in the republic of Tanzania.

Iam attending an Internet training workshop at BOT Conference room in Mwanza. The workshop is organized by Misa-Tan for Lake Zone Journalists from October 26 to 30, 2009. We started day one by having an introduction of the workshop and then learned about the way internet has change societies and communication globally.

In the afternoon session, we learnt about how Internet has changed journalism way of doing things, like sourcing news, travelling arrangements ( ticketing and bookings by Internet)and a little bit of banking.

Our Mr. Peik Johansson Trainer from Finland taught workshop participants usage of some icons that we normally see them on our computers that we didn’t know before. I really expect to learn much from the workshop and it will make me work more smoothly to meet my goals at work and in my personal daily activities.
